- "You have a dog?"
- "Yes. I have a Pit Bull."
- "You have a Pit Bull??"
-"Yes. I have a Pit Bull."
- "But! But!, (pick from list of insane and ridiculous responses I have heard)
-"Their jaws lock! You're asking to get hurt!"
- "They're SO aggressive! One day they'll turn on you!"
- "They're SO unsafe with children!" (Really? They're the original nanny dog!)
-" Well...I guess not allll Pit Bulls are bad." (*Insert eye roll large enough to change the rotation of the Earth here*)
Such a large majority of people don't understand Pit Bulls. I'll admit that before rescuing Lilly I gave in to some of the Pit Bull stereotypes. I really wasn't sure how much of the "aggressive" breed information I had heard was true and how much was exaggerated and incorrect. And then I met Lilly. And I quickly realized that anyone in the world who seriously thinks that a Pit Bull is anything other than loving, loyal, adorable, likable, lovable, and adoptable is just plain wrong. There are people in the world advocating for Bully breeds and spreading the correct information to the world and I LOVE IT. I wish there were more people in the world that loved Bully breeds.
Sophie Gamand is AMAZING. If you don't know who Sophie Gamand is stop reading this post, open another tab, and get your Google on! or open up this link! She has an absolutely adorable and amazing series called Flower Power, Pit Bulls of the Revolution and you need to check it out if you haven't already. My husband surprised me with the 2016 Pit Bull Flower Power Calendar and I completely lost it when I opened up the package and realized that it was inside.
I hope everyone had a great time during the holidays! New Years is just around the corner! Have fun! Be safe! and as always...
Love, Lilly Bug
